synopsis.

Help Leon the chameleon find the perfect match in this neon-coloured, interactive picture book!

Everyone knows that chameleons are the best at fitting in. But not Leon. Leon is neon! In fact, he's SO bright that he keeps all the other chameleons awake at night. But poor Leon is lonely, so he goes off in search of somewhere he can blend in.

In this delightful interactive book, filled with vibrant neon artwork, children can help Leon on his journey by counting his steps, sending him to sleep and giving him lots of reassurance when he's feeling down. But will he ever find a place he can fit in...?

review.

Neon Leon is a vibrant, colourful, fun read for younger readers with an iconic animal to capture their attention.

Leon, the chameleon, is not like the other chameleons he knows. As all the other chameleons blend into their backgrounds, from greens and blues to desert-y yellows, Leon stays the same shade of neon orange. He goes in search of the perfect place where he will fit in, with others just like him.

This is a great picture book for highlighting that being different is okay, and that everyone can find their like-minded friends. Jane Clarke’s interactive writing style will encourage readers to count, predict and interact with the story the whole way through.

Britta Teckentrup’s gorgeous illustrations will draw readers in as they search the pictures for all the chameleons on each page. The illustrations are bright, colourful and clear, while still remaining beautifully enchanting.

Neon Leon is a picture book best suited for children around 3-6 years old, or to anyone who loves chameleons!

I gave Neon Leon 4 out of 5 stars.

Her Every Fear was sent to me by Allen & Unwin in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts are my own.
