synopsis.

A pivotal chapter in the history of Battlestar Galactica, the reimagined series... set before the destruction of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol! In developing the next generation of Cylons, getting the models to look human was the easy part. But acting human is another story. Witness the evolution of Number Six as she learns to live, to love... and to hate.

my thoughts.

Battlestar Galactica, the reimagined series, was one of my favourite TV series around the time that it was released, and remains so to this day. It is a universe filled with unique and interesting characters, and a backstory that is both futuristic and highly reflective of modern society.

Battlestar Galactica: Six is a graphic novel that explores who Six is and how she became the way she is. It is a prequel to the TV series, and takes place in the time leading up to her first meeting Gaius Baltar. It was fascinating to read her story, the experiences she’s undergone to become the Six that fans of the show are familiar with, and also how the Cylons evolved from machines into their humanoid evolutions.

I loved the artwork in this graphic novel. It was easy to recognise all the familiar characters from the series, while having it’s own twist. It was also lovely to get glimpses into what the other Colonies looked like.

If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll definitely enjoy this. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars. It was wonderful to spend a bit more time in the universe I know and love.

The hardcover edition of this graphic novel will be released on December 20, 2016 in the U.S.
